When to test for ovulation ?

I’ve never really tried it .. I’ve only went  based on my cm .. 
How do you test for ovulation and time frame?

Trying for baby number 2 and we have been using the clearblue advanced ovulation kit. It has helped HUGE as I have been ovulating early for the last two months. I started taking tests on day 6(was negative day 6.7). Day 8 it was at peak! It went from nothing to peak! So I am glad I used it, if I would have gone based off the app I would have been trying around day 14 and would have completely missed my peak days!

Since you are just starting, I would say begin with the day after your period ends. And with opk’s, never use FMU (unless instructed in the instructions). Choose two times between 10 AM and 8 PM that you can test at every day at the SAME two times (so you don’t miss your surge); and use a 4 hour pee hold each time (and try not to drink a lot of liquids during the hold times). Once the test line is as dark as, or darker than, the control line - you have a positive. Once you get a positive opk, ovulation will occur within 12-36 hours; and the egg - once released - will be viable for 12-24 hours.
