If your baby doesn’t take a pacifier how do they self soothe?

My 9week old baby doesn’t take a pacifier . I’ve tried 5 different types and just gave up .
How does your baby self soothe ?

Mine discovered his hand and shoves his fist in his mouth

Mine used to take a pacifier, now she will only take it occasionally and mostly prefers to suck on her hands.

Mine jams her whole entire fist in her mouth. 😂 We’ve tried five different brands of pacifiers and she will not take any of them.

So far I have been nursing him to sleep or soothe. I was keeping mittens on his fingers due to his nails but now that I have taken them off, he has discovered using his hand. I just hope it helps with soothing since pacifiers are not his thing.

Same here!! Have tried so many brands. She makes sucking sounds and is always sticking her tongue out.. it seems like she would love a paci but she doesn’t!! It’s frustrating. She loves her hand/fist now though 😬
