Does your significant other help out with the baby in the middle of the night?

Mine can hear my baby crying & wont budge !! It’s starting to annoy me. Even during the day he rarely helps . Anyone else going through this?

I let him sleep through the night because he works and I do not. He takes care of all the meals, grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry, our 3 pets and I take care of our baby. I think it’s a fair trade.

I'm the only one with boobs in the house, so no, he doesn't parent at night since our guy really only wakes up for feeds. If he's woken for something else and milk doesn't get him to go back down, of course daddy will rock him back to sleep. He also gets him ready in the morning and does drop off to daycare, and in the evening, we take turns cooking and playing with baby. We are a team, we do it together.

On his days off we took turns but if he worked into he morning I would get up (I’m a sahm) whenever he is home it’s always 50/50 for us, or close to depending on how our day went. Sometimes he picks up my slack and vice versa.

He honestly doesn’t wake up most nights. If our baby is screaming and clearly more upset than he should be while hungry at 2 am then he usually wakes up to that and comes in right away. But I just make him a bottle quickly and I always wake up immediately. No use for us both being awake if everything’s normal.

My husband works and I don’t, I get up in the middle of the night with the baby. On the weekends or his days off he will let me sleep in and get up with her when she’s up for the day.

I breastfeed so really he can’t help during the night. He could, but if he gave baby a bottle I’d have to wake up and pump anyway so there’s no point. However, he does help during the day and since we’re on opposite shifts our kids don’t go to a sitter and he loses sleep to take care of them during the day while I’m at work. So the least I can do is sacrifice my nights while our baby doesn’t sleep through them yet.
