Heart rate variability depending on tech?
Hi all,
I’m going for weekly scans, due to being an
IVF patient, and I’ve noticed that depending on the ultrasound tech, the heart rate can go slightly higher or lower. This was confirmed today at 8 weeks when our tech initially measured at 170BPM, then we saw her drag the line further out to 150BPM - and she said that our tech the week prior “measures high”, whereas she “measures lower”. At our 7 week appt. the other tech measured at 159BPM. Everything is on track and going well, I was just wondering if others have had experience with this, or if anyone is an ultrasound tech and can speak to degree of error? I was nervous because the number was slightly lower initially, but then the techs and doctors confirmed not only degree of error, but also that the heart rate was still great. Thank you!
