how long after you take the medicine does a yeast infection go away? my dr prescribed me a pill and i want it gone by the time my period starts in like 3 days plus i miss sex

Depending on how bad it is it can take 2-3 days to start having a effect on the yeast. I recommend taking good probiotics and if it start making you itch or raw on the outside you can use the generic 7 monistat for the outside. The do not recommend using fluconazole pill and the vaginal cream, but I have when it was really bad and it worked like a charm. Only use it for 2 or 3 days tho (use discretion). The pill will kick in and finish the job.
