Single mums: what happens when you're ill?

Question

I have the utmost respect for single mums. I'm not one myself but I've been throwing up for the last 12 hours on and off. It's horrible but got me thinking, how to single mums do it?
P.S I'm not talking about a cold where you would probably just get on with it.. I mean flu, fever, food poisoning, etc.

If I'm doing really bad and know I won't be able to do much I try calling my mom or someone in my family that's available to help. I'm a young mom so my family has really helped me out when I need an extra hand.

When I was a single mom I had pneumonia 3 times in a row and was actually rather ill for over 2 years. My daughter was in kindergarten at the time I first got sick. She is also high functioning autistic. I still had to be mom. We watched a lot of spongebob and played go fish on my bed. I even went to her Christmas play at school on day 4 or 5 of my first bout of pneumonia. I looked like death. Life continues. Doesn’t matter if you are sick or not.

I haven't been sick yet but I have debilitating migraines m I just have to chug water, icepacks and take my medication and push through it. 
It's so hard when you dont feel well and have to care for someone else and you have little to no help.

I had salmonella one day back when I was a single mom. Literally crippling. I could not care for her. My parents took care of her that day. I couldnt even care for myself so my dad made me oatmeal. Had difficulties eating at all so that one bowl lasted all day. Thank god it only lasted that day
