Baby girl came Dec 2nd! Fantastic induction delivery story

Shay • Single mama to a baby girl 💜

I got induced and had such a fantastic labor and delivery!! I was so scared that being induced I’d be in labor for hours upon hours.

Saturday night I got the cervidil put in and sent home, I dilated to a 3 in 24 hours. Sunday night I got another dose of cervidil put in and sent home. The contractions with the first dose weren’t too bad. But the second dose really sped things up. My contractions were getting to be more painful, and Baby was so low in my pelvis I could barely walk.

Monday morning I went back to the hospital, I was dilated to a 5. She broke my water at 9:40, and omg the contractions came on so fast. And good lord that pain is something like I’ve never felt before. I couldn’t talk. My legs were shaking from how much pain I was in, I thought I was going to pass out. I wanted to see how far I could go without an epidural. I was given a shot of morphine mixed with gravol. It did nothing for the pain, just made me drugged the hell out.

11:00 am - I was dilated to a 7 already. I asked for the epidural

12:00 pm - 8cm, got the epidural and omg, it saved my life. It was an instant relief of pain. I was on top of the world. Nurses thought I’d still have another few hours to go before pushing. I was napping and then all the sudden

1:00 pm - I has the urge to push. i was checked and full dilated. Nurse said I’d have the baby in the next couple hours. I said no I have to push now.

My OBs office is right across the street from the hospital. She RAN to the hospital, nurses were getting ready to deliver the baby.

I asked for a mirror so I could watch the entire thing. And it was amazing. I’m so glad I did. It was something I’ve always wanted. I pushed for 20 minutes, and she was born at 1:37 pm. I even reached my hands down and pulled her out myself! It was the most magical experience of my entire life.

I couldn’t have asked for a better labor and delivery. I didn’t tear at all, no stitches. I felt amazing after giving birth. I could have went home an hour later. It doesn’t even feel like I gave birth 4 days ago!

She’s so tiny, weighed 6lbs 14 oz. she’s lost 10% of her birth weight. Now she’s only 6 lbs even, but drs are t concerned. But she is the most precious little thing I ever laid my eyes on.

I’m so thankful for this little girl

We named her Savannah Spencer-Rain
