Dry flakey skin with foundation

Question

Does anyone have any hacks for applying liquid foundation to dry flakey skin? 
Every freaking time I try to wear foundation my skin gets flakey and gross looking 😭 I'm super broke out right now and want to cover it up for work. But I never wear foundation so Idk what to do. Ive tried using a face lotion and primer and still didn't help 🤦

Well make sure you’re using a foundation with a natural or satin finish. Avoid matte at all costs, avoid powder. Get a setting spray instead of using powder if you need to. Use a beauty blender that is damp to blend, instead of a brush. And make sure your skin is exfoliated. Those are my tips, I havedry skin too.

I shave my face to remove the dead skin so that my makeup goes on smoothly. I recommend looking it up online on how to do it correctly, and how often you can do it safely.

While checking the comments, i want to point out that scrubs arent supposed to be used on dry skin, and especially not daily. Id recommend looking into chemical exfoliants for exfolation and avoid matte foundations or powders. Moisture is key !

I use an exfoliating wipes or a scrub daily.... moisturizer always and always wash my face before putting make on and then moisturizer too and witch hazel spray... I wear powder foundation not liquid but if I ever do I have to do the same thing... I have psoriasis so every now and then I get very flaky skin... hope this helps!

Maybe you're using a matte foundation...? Which foundation are you using?
