Follicle growth rate and success?

For my first IVF cycle, I stimmed for 10 days. This time after only four, I already have a 15mm and a 16 mm follicle! I’m a little worried that they’re growing too fast to be viable. Has anyone else had a similar experience who can chime in about their success with embryo development and pregnancy? I want to hear the good, bad, and ugly-thank you!￼

I had a front runner that grew fast, but my doc said she'd sacrifice that one to get more to grow to mature size.

I will be more worried about the ones dragging behind than if the two strongest ones will be viable. Seems like the general consensus in medical literature is that anything above 23 mm is past its best chance to fertilize and become viable embrio and anything under 15 mm might struggle to  undergo miosis correctly when trigger is administered. They might need to sacrice the front runner to try to at least get the next few after it in good range of size. The problem is that estimating the growth of all so early will be hard. I really really hope that the strongest two slower the pace for you and the other ones catch up. This is the ideal scenario. If the last two manage to grow to at least 15 mm they might have shot at it. The stronger ones seem to be a bit like the bullies of the bunch. Even naturally the strongest takes lead and eventually causes the rest to disintegrate once it has reached optimal size. Mine lead 6 seem to be in very similar size but i worry for the dragging 3 behind. There are another 2 behind the 3 they did not grow at all in the two days between the ultrasound scan. I guess the front 9 just wont allow them to grow even the slightest. Alex I really hope that the smaller ones will catch up soon. Do you have any other measurable follicles or just the two leads?
I did have a cycle where a lead took off leaving me with two nice follicles at trigger.  As a result we ended up converting to an IUI that cycle (unsuccessful).
I had another cycle where I had a single lead but also had some measureable follicles trailing behind.  We decided to sacrifice the lead and allow the others to catch up as they were close in size/growth rate.  I made it to retrieval and had 6 eggs retrieved (which was awesome for me - 37 years old with DOR).  We did a fresh day 3 transfer (unsuccessful).
I’d say you’ll definitely get more insight into where your cycle is headed within your next couple appointments.  Our bodies can be so unpredictable at times and it’s incredibly frustrating!  The good news is that it’s early and sometimes it takes our ovaries a little time to kick into high gear.
