Work lunches?

I am typically a lunch meat and cheese kind of person for work. Since lunch meat is frowned upon, I’m stumped on what to bring. I’m a teacher so our lunches are pretty short and filled with making copies, phone calls, and grading 😂 so I can’t bring something that takes a ton of time to make or eat. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I’m a teacher, too.  I take snacks-fruit, nuts or nut bar, popcorn, maybe leftovers (I have a microwave in my room), yogurt (I have a fridge), etc., and eat a good breakfast before school.  I tend to randomly get hungry throughout the day now, so I’ll just grab one of my snacks and eat several times throughout the day, even while I’m teaching 😂. The kids will get over my need to eat, lol.  They know it’s because of the baby.  I find grazing throughout the day is very effective.

I was told by my doctor that lunch meat was ok as long as I heated it up in the oven to kill any risk of listeria- she suggested doing it right after I buy it and then repacking it in a ziplock bag

I always eat deli meat!  It’s fine as long as you get it from a reliable deli!   They worry about listeria which only happens when the meat is not handled properly.  I was a deli manager for years and it very rarely happens!!

Hummus/cheese/tomato sandwich, PB&J, PB&Banana, slice of quiche made the day before, chicken enchilada casserole, veggie soup (add hamburger meat if desired)...

I’m a teacher and I take a big salad every day with lots of beans on it (black beans, chickpeas, kidney beans, cannellini beans) for protein and fiber, I’ll also snack on string cheese, apples, peanut butter, and cut cucumbers and peppers with hummus. I’m hungry before lunch of course so I’ll have a banana around mid morning for a little bit of energy.

Kindergarten teacher here! I always pack leftovers, makes my life easy 😂 I also pack some kind of fruit (apples, clementines, grapes, etc.), saltines (in case I get nausea at work) and usually some kind of “snacks” (cheez-its, popcorn, veggie straws, etc.) and usually something sweet like a cookie lol

PB&J is an oldy but a goody. That and maybe some fruit. Crackers and cheese spread. Cut veggies and dip. An apple with peanut butter or honey. Buscuits and honey or jelly. Take soup in a thermos.

I’m a teacher too, and some of my go to’s are veggies with hummus, nut butter, yogurt with nuts, oatmeal. I find myself snacking throughout the day more now vs having an actual “meal” and that works for me.
