Ultasound start period ?

I had a vaginal ultrasound this morning to monitor because my period was 5 days late. Right after she took it out I was bleeding and my period started. Is that normal ? 
I checked in the shower this morning before and there was no sign and now I’m very heavy

Any agitation in that area can be enough to bring on bleeding - sex has brought on my period more than once, and transvaginal ultrasounds/pelvic exams are also known to sometimes cause light bleeding in pregnant women. Sounds normal to me!
