Why people wont stick to the baby register gift list

So I made my baby registry for the baby shower with only the things that I’ll need ... I don’t want to end up with things I’ll never use, cause it happened before with my other pregnancies, but people keeps trying to buy things they think I’ll need or They think I have to have 😒 .... like please, I made the list for a reason, and after the baby shower I’ll see what I’m missing or what else I need to buy... even my mother tries to buy shit I’m not asking 😫 .... and is not like my list is short or has only expensive things, it only has what I think I should have... period! .... Am I being unreasonable? ... like no!! I don’t need a giant elephant pillow for the baby 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ok, people DON’T HAVE TO buy me anything ... but if you want to bring me something please stick with the list or at least talk to me first. And like I said, I didn’t put only expensive stuff in the list ... some things are even $8. My point is, I know what I need and I don’t want to have to return things because I don’t have time and sometimes people feel bad when they ask me for the things they give me and I have to tell them I returned it. I prefer a gift card if you dont want to give me anything from the list, or just don’t bring me anything and come and let’s have a good time and that’s it ...

Last Update: I understand everyones opinion, I’m not gonna change my mind and I’m not gonna make my family feel bad because of the things they want to bring me that are not in my list. I know they don’t HAVE to bring me anything and I have to be grateful bla bla bla. I just feel annoyed by the fact that at the end you have a baby registry for everyone to ignore lol.
