Phone questions???

I'm looking into phones at the moment I have a cheap Samsung from Walmart and I want to update my cell phone 
Which cell brand is good ?

honestly, apple. a lot of specs aren't as good as flagship androids of the same price, but i only buy iphones mainly for the security. apple supports their phones for up to about 6 years after launch. which means you get security updates as well. 
androids will vary on model due to lack of standardisation, but generally they give a major update one year afterwards and subsequent years get minor updates. you're lucky if you get three years of security updates from an android. 
i keep sensitive information on my phone (documents, insurance, etc.) so security updates are important to me. also, as a designer, i love apple's design. the phone itself could use an update but it still fits in with other flagships, and i love how streamlined the ui is, and many apps are optimised for ios since it's hard to code for 30 diff androids. that's why, for example, snapchat is much worse on android than iphone.

I'm a huge fan of One Plus phones. I used to have Apple phones which are nice and they last for a while, but my phone was cheaper and also has great features, including being able to charge in an hour. It's an Android phone but unlike Samsung it doesn't come with bloatware (software that comes with the phone that tends to waste money and resources). Another Android phone that I like is the Google Pixel, although I am less familiar with it. iPhones are good phones but they seem too expensive for what you get unless you can get a promotion or get a used one. If you don't mind getting a used phone, look up swappa.com. They sell used devices (some are in mint condition) and all of the devices they sell are required to be fully functional.

Apple products last forever (at least it seems like it) I’ve had the same iPhone for 4 years and I will have it another year before upgrading. The only reason I’m gonna upgrade is because software updates will no longer be available for my model not because my phone is falling apart or broken.
