Is it safe to take this while pregnant? I’m getting a sore throat and thinking about trying it. I’ve never had it before

During first trimester I’d avoid it! There are very few things you can take before 12 weeks. Check with your nurse or OB prior to!

I’ve read that herbal teas can cause miscarriage and my OB confirmed to steer clear of them because there aren’t enough studies regarding the safety.  I was drinking hibiscus tea twice a day when I miscarried in October, obviously I can’t prove that’s the cause, but I’ve stayed away from them completely since.
