9 week ultrasound

Yesterday I measured 9 weeks, 4 days. We were able to see the heart beating on the screen and the baby moved a lot! Obviously I can’t feel it anytime soon so I was shocked to see so much movement. The baby was kicking his or her legs. It reminded me of swimming with a kick board since the baby can’t bend knees this early. You can see the legs in a different position in the two pictures.

It was really exciting to see. We’ve wanted to be parents and wanted to conceive this baby, but with morning sickness and other stress, I haven’t felt so excited. I even felt guilty because so many people say things like “I loved you since I first knew you were in my tummy”. I haven’t felt connected to the baby (yet) and it’s made me feel guilty. Yesterday was different because it finally felt real being able to see movement on the screen.
