wasn’t quite ready to wake up yet but the tell-tale squirting sound next to me told me it was the start of another day of ALL THE POOP so i got up and grabbed the second last nappy from the caddy upstairs and dad went downstairs to grab the wipes and nappy ointment for me whilst i lay the change mat on the bed.

i’m just about done, just putting ointment on when baby decides to pee ALL OVER himself, and it was a big morning pee, three squeezes. so now he’s lying in a pool of pee, all around his head and everything. dad is getting ready for work but i shouted to him to come help me get baby in the shower (quickest option), so we pick up the pee-swimming-pool of a change mat and get him into the bath (luckily we have a shower over bath set up.) this is where we discover that the temperature gage on the shower has dots *increasing* in size as the temperature *goes down*, so we have a couple minutes turning the knob the wrong way and wondering why the shower is getting hotter and hotter (the water wasn’t near baby at this point, i’m holding him, dripping, over the mat at the other end of the bath) the water gets to the right temp and i set baby down on the mat and i’m halfway through saying to dad that i can handle it from here when baby decides to poop on the mat too! so dad starts hosing that down, but now the mat is stopping the water from going down the plug hole! so we’re basically creating a shit-filled bath! i pick baby up and dad starts hosing everything down. i’m soaping baby up, we get him clean, and i take him back through to the bedroom to get him dried, moisturised and nappy ointment on with a fresh nappy when he poops in it! so i have to run downstairs to grab more nappies. when i get back, he’s peed over himself again!! not so bad this time, baby wipes will sort it, but i need a fresh towel. so i get him dried up, more ointment, new nappy and fresh pjs on. i go through to the bathroom to wash my hands and come back through to feed baby. as i bend in to pick him up, there’s the tell-tale sound and smell again; ANOTHER POOP!! 😫 more ointment, new nappy and we’re finally done. i give the bathroom and change mat a quick clean and settle down to feed.
