Sleep positions?

So my LO is 6 weeks old and he’s HATES sleeping on his back! I try not to put him on his stomach when i go to sleep because I can’t watch him and it’s not recommended but he only sleeps maybe 45 minutes on his back.
 When i put him on his stomach he’s able to sleep 4 hours. I tried everything I could but he just doesn’t like being on his back and he hates being swaddled more than anything! Idk what to do at this point, my mom mentioned that we didn’t like sleeping on our back either as babies but with all the talk about sids none of us leave him on his stomach while he’s unattended. Any suggestions?

You just have to persevere, keep putting him on his back and he will eventually get used to it and start sleeping longer. It's all you can do honey for his safety.

My baby refused to sleep on her back and we thought we had tried everything. Until my mother in law put books under one side of her mattress so it is at a slight angle. She will sleep there for 4 hours or more now and it’s awesome. 
I have a friend whose baby wouldn’t fall asleep on her back- so they would put her on her tummy and after she was solidly asleep they rolled her over and she would stay asleep. Might be worth trying.

Do a lot of research on when & why people started to say to not sleep on the belly. I did & it makes sense. I now let my baby sleep on his belly. I started out just during the day & watched him constantly. I now do nights too, but his crib is right against my bed so I can check him all night long, as I would do on back or belly. Make sure it is a firm mattress & baby can lift & turn his head. My baby sleeps sooo much better now!
I no it's a controversial topic, so please nobody throw hate, I do what's best for me & my baby & you do the same.

My baby has been sleeping on his side since he was born. We would put him on his back and he would roll to his side no matter what. I read it they are rolling to that position on their own it’s ok to let them side sleep. Tummy sleeping isn’t safe yet though so I would try to avoid that. Maybe try the side sleeping and see if that helps?
