I don’t know where to post this but hopefully I’ll get some answers here...

My nephew hasn’t been feeling well for over week now.... super high fever and my SIL only took him to the hospital today... (before hospital she went to a clinic where they said it was an ear infection until today) to make a long story short hospital says he has mono....is it normal for them not to prescribe anything. He’s always super sleepy, fever doesn’t seem to go all the way back to normal and he has spots all over his body...the hospital just keeps telling her to go home and that if he still has a fever to come back in a couple days....my main concern is my 6 month old. Is this catchable (it’s a virus so I’m pretty sure it is) if anyone has any info please let me know, my bf and I have already told her maybe get a second opinion cause everytime he’s sick nobody ever prescribes this kid anything.
