Foreign Birth Control?

So, I'm currently in China (won't be home for a while. I ran out of my American BC and am waiting for my package of my meds to arrive here. My question is, are progesterone tablets okay to take in the meantime? I had the box translated and it said that's basically what they are and I'm reading mixed things on Google. I'm simply using BC now to prevent painful periods.

Do you have health insurance? There is normally a number on the back of health insurance cards that you can call to talk to a registered nurse. In the meantime, I wouldn’t take anything too crazy. Stick to old fashioned ways of period relief if you can until your regular pills arrive. Or see if there is like a walk in CVS or something similar? Sorry I’m not too familiar with what’s available in China.

Diane 35 is an estrogen+progesterone pill. And a very strong one at that, prescribed for severe acne, seborrhea, mild hirsutism. It's not approved in the US by the FDA. The progesterone in it is ciproterone acetate (2 mg), and the estrogen is ethinyl estradiol (0,035 mg). Check what's in your usual pill - down to the precise name and mg of the active ingredients, and consult a medical professional about getting an alternative in China if they don't have your usual pill (the name of the product depends on the manufacturer, but the components can be the same). I've bought and used Diane 35 in Hungary and Serbia also, and it's definitely not a progesterone only pill. Check out on Bayer's website (they have a Canadian one in English). Their product has to be the same all around the world. Hope this helps! 🙂
