One month old not sleeping

Please help.... I am beyond exhausted and have no idea what to do. During the day baby is calm and eats fine (breastfed). He sleeps great and has his awake times so I know he’s not sleeping too much during the day. But then night time comes around and he is a hot mess. Screaming and difficult to put down for bed. And then continues to keep waking up at night screaming and wakes up as soon as he is put down. I’m going back to work soon and this can’t go on. Is he just colicky? Should I try formula? Please help 😫
