2-2-3 or 2-3-3 seating in an SUV with little kids?

Question

Right now I drive an 07 Ford Edge that I’ve had for 6yrs. In a few months I’m considering upgrading to an SUV, preferably one that seats 7 or 8. I’ve really been looking at Traverses or Acadias. 
Originally I wanted the 2-2-3 seating, so it was easier to get in the back. However I’ve had other ppl tell me that with little kids, the 2-3-3 seating is better; car seats fit better on the bench Vs the captains chairs, it will be a while before they can walk to the back anyways, and I can keep my 3rd row down for extra storage if needed and still fit 5ppl instead of 4.
Right now I’m pregnant with our first, so we don’t have little kids that would need to climb into the back yet. I’m jw what other parents recommend? 2-2-3 seating or 2-3-3?

I know with third row seating and having young ones in car seats it’s very difficult bc the car seats keep the seats from folding down for other kids to get into the third row. I’m not a mini van person but makes it so much easier. My sister has a Honda Pilot and when she takes my daughter and her car seat the other kids have a hard time getting in the back

I would not get a traverse or Acadia. They have alot of issues. I worked at a GM dealership. They have way too many problems. Unless u get them newer than like a 2016. 
I went from an edge to a tahoe. I love the tahoe. I have the 2 3 3. I never have the back row in it. There is no space at all in the back with the 3rd row up. I really like having the full middle seat. If u have 6 people u can leave 1 back seat in and have the other half open for space. If u had captain seats u cant leave a back one out. Yes it's easier to get in the back but if y have 2 car seats I'd put them next to each other and leave the little middle seat folded down and still can get to the back.

I drive a Chrysler Pacifica with 2 3 3 seating.. I will have two car seats on the second row come march.. and can still fold a seat down for access to the third row.. I love my van..

I have a 2-3-3 but the second row you fold each part so if you have 2 car seats you can still fold and get back to the third. Make sure it’s not a full bench.

I have a dodge journey. I have 2 in carseats and a 9 year old. We just open the hatch and let him climb in the back that way. Much easier.🤷‍♀️

2-2-3 if you plan on keeping it as your child grows up. it makes it a lot easier to get to the back. we used to have the sienna with 2-3-3 for field trips and it was fine since the doorway was massive, but it was a minivan.  i'd assume with an suv it'd be a bit more of a hassle. my dad upgraded to the model x, which has the 2-2-2 configuration and it's great for when i borrow it since all my friends can easily get in without having to wait to fold the seat down.

I currently have the 2 2 3 in my van but we need to buy a 2 3 3 because we havinv twins and have 4 kids already so currently 1 seat short in my van. Looking at a traverse or a van toyota sienna

Definitely 2-2-3. It’s so much easier getting to the back. I honestly think the captain chairs hold car seats better. We have a suburban with 3 seats in the middle and my parents have a Yukon with 2 seats. I like the way the car seat fit in the Yukon a whole lot better.
