My fiancé and I are getting married in March. And they’re only giving him five days off around then. Really, he’s lucky because they’re doing training after Christmas through late February. No ones getting leave around then. So Christmas break will be the only time that he has off until the weekend of our wedding. We agreed to get legally married over Christmas so we had time for BAH to kick in and to get me enrolled in DEERS. I didn’t want to wait till last minute to find off base housing, otherwise we’d be stuck without a place after the wedding. Now he’s suddenly changed his mind. He won’t listen to me, and claims it won’t work. Am I being unreasonable? I live five ours away from his base, so doing this over break made sense. Getting the legal paperwork out of the way would’ve made the transition easier. I would deeply appreciate some advice, because this is stressing me out. Thank you.
