It depends. There's a difference in politics and then there's a difference in morals. Idc if you're Democrat or Republican, that doesnt matter. But if you STILL support trump, that's a dealbreaker. If you support trump your morals, or more accurately lack of, are a dealbreaker. Hes racist, misogynistic, homophobic, sexist, and am overall disgusting human being. Hes bragged about sexually assaulting woman and has mocked disabled people on live television. If you can try to justify that, then I have no room in my life for you.

If we voted for different people/had different positions on small (or even big) issues, maybe not. If I discovered that their political beliefs were rooted in bigotry, yes. There’s a big difference between “He usually votes republican and she usually votes democrat,” and a person who believes in really repressive garbage (which can happen regardless of your affiliation).

No. There is more to a person than their political views. My husband and I have different political views and it’s perfectly fine.

It depends on the specific differences. I am okay with a partner having a different political opinion, but I don’t even want to be around someone with certain political opinions. So yeah if they felt that way, I’d break up with them.

Honestly I think politic views say a lot about a person and as a very liberal person I’d probably struggle to understand conservative views... I just think we wouldn’t vibe, so before I even date someone I make sure I know their political views

My husband and I have very different political point of views. We don’t hide from issues, and we will have very very very long talks about them. We never try to change the others view, only explain why we believe in our own. It’s kind of like religion in my house, we can talk about it but in the end to each their own we don’t try to change each other.

It depends on the difference to be honest. I'm from Scotland and I couldn't go with anyone that voted Conservative or didn't believe Scotland should be an independent country. Too many arguments! I'm interested in politics though so that would also be a factor.

I voted yes but realized I wouldn’t let it get far enough to be a relationship if we had differing political views on important issues. I stand strong for what I believe and don’t believe in, and the person I’m with should be standing beside me. We can disagree on smaller issues, but at the end of the day if you don’t have the same moral code as me I’m out.

Well I didn't find out my husband was mostly conservative until this last election, we have totally different views on alot of things. We are still married 😊
