1 cm dilated 60% effaced

I was checked at my OB’s office on Wednesday (37+4) and not sure how effaced I was but she said my cervix was just starting to open, not even at 1 cm yet. Went to the hospital Thursday after having contractions anywhere from 2-10 minutes apart and lasting 45-60 seconds each. When I got there I was 1 cm, 60% effaced, and was having contractions 2-4 minutes apart but the pain was tolerable. I was checked after an hour and didn’t make any progress so I was sent home. OB at the hospital said I was definitely in early labor and could stay like this for a few days but doesn’t think I will make it do my due date based on how close the contractions were. Anyone else have a similar story? I know I could end up staying like this for a while though. FTM here and so excited to get this baby out! OB said baby and I are both healthy so there should be no issues if he comes before the due date.
