Hand foot and mouth?

Question

11 month baby boy is cutting for teeth right now, but was also exposed to hand foot and mouth at daycare.
He had a 100.7 fever yesterday, managed with Tylenol over night. 99.8 is the highest I’ve seen today. 
Bumps on mouth and very fussy. 
No sores on hands, feet or groin. None inside mouth that I can see, but he’s not very cooperative. 
Normal appetite.

That’s where my youngest daughter’s sores started right around her mouth. Unfortunately, it’s highly contagious and I’d say he definitely has it especially if he has been exposed to it. Poor little guy. ☹️

Awe my babe had HFMD a few months ago. It started out with fevers and a few bumps around the mouth. Followed by a very poor appetite and refusing her pacifier or a bottle because of the sores in her throat. She would wake up screaming all night because her throat hurt so bad. Then a day or two after that she developed a rash all over her hands, feet, knees, back of thighs, and groin area. 
Its horrible to watch them go through that pain. If your LO does turn out to have HFMD, we did oatmeal/breastmilk baths to help the rash. Kept her as cool as possible because heat irritates the rash more. And we tried to get her to drink as much water as possible since she wasn’t eating or drinking very much milk.

The bumps may or may not happen so it can be hard to diagnose. It’s super contagious so if you suspect it, try to quarantine.

UPDATE: well, you ladies were spot on. HFMD was diagnosed this morning. Poor baby boy, but with him being in daycare it was bound to happen at some point. Thank you all for your feedback.

I work in childcare and it definitely looks like hand foot and mouth, but take em to the doctor to be sure! Unfortunately hand foot and mouth is most contagious right before and right when they start getting the fever so it’s pretty hard to prevent the spread of it especially in a group setting! We just had HFAM go through the our infant unit as well. The good thing is it goes away and isn’t life threatening, bad news is it’s definitely uncomfortable for your baby :(
