Which is better?

I’m wanting a machine that does the most things. Do you have to pay for each design you want with the cricut?

I have a Silhouette Cameo and personally feel it’s better than the cricut. It has a lot more features you can use almost like Inkscape and I’ve seen some videos on YouTube where Cricut users download the Silhouette software so they can use the features and then cut it on the Cricut.

I have an older cricut my mother didn't use. She gave it to me after I had bought the scanncut. There are a few generic free patterns with both machines. The scanncut wins because you can take any vector graphic from online or that you created and have it cut or draw it by uploading to the software. 
I don't know what the cricut maker does.  I've heard it cuts thicker materials so that would be cool. Even better a CNC machine (which costs thousands) or a 3D printer, but whose got that kind of $$

You can upload you own stuff for the cricut, you don't have to use theirs. They also have a bunch of free projects you can use

Silhouette Cameo is the way to go. You can do some much and it’s not over complicated like Cricut
