Sudafed PE?

I’m 13 weeks pregnant today & have had a terrible headache, cough, runny nose, stomach ache, & diarrhea. I got a booklet from my OB stating which medicines I could take. I’ve only taken Extra Strength Tylenol (2 tablets every 4 hours) because I’ve been weary. However, this morning I took Sudafed PE because I didn’t realize there was a difference between that & Sudafed, which my booklet says I can take after 12 weeks. I then was taking another dose & my mom asked if it was okay. I looked it up online & realized Sudafed is okay, but Sudafed PE is not. I had already taken the dose so I got worried & went into the bathroom & made myself get sick. Now I’m freaking out & am looking for any insight on if me/baby are okay? Thanks in advance!

Making yourself throw up is worse than just letting the medicine run it’s course through your body. I accidentally took Sudafed PE before realizing I shouldn’t have, but that 1 dose didn’t hurt anything and me and baby are just fine. This was at 15-16 weeks, I’m now 37 and some days. Never make yourself throw up, especially while pregnant. That’s dangerous.

I would just call your local labour and delivery and ask them for advice! I’m not sure where you live but here in Canada (specifically in New Brunswick) they will let us know if we should come in or not. We also have an 811 health care number to call and nurses do a triage assessment and let you know when and if you need to be seen

The PE one isn’t safe in pregnancy. U need the regular one that they keep behind the pharmacy counter.
