Why do women have multiple periods a month?

I thought it takes 14 days to ovulate between period ending and then you have that period 2 weeks later (1 period a month) so how does it even happen?

In a perfect world that’s how it’s supposed to work, but every woman’s cycle is different and not everyone ovulates on the 14th day and in the middle of their cycle.

No issues I just have a short cycle(24 days). Sometimes it happens twice a month.

The minimal amount of days a cycle can last is 20 days or so normally. So every once and awhile you have a period at the beginning of the month, your period lasts 5 days, and then two weeks or so pass and you have it again

Hormones can be out of whack. A lot of people have undiagnosed thyroid issues.
