Recalled?

Is this the rock and play that’s been recalled? I’ve had one with my daughter when she was super little , just let her relax in it for short periods of time & obviously not once she could roll over. Is this safe to use as long as I’m not letting baby sleep in it and such? Was it a different one? Any feedback is appreciated!

Not safe. Why even take the chance? Blaming a loss parent is disgusting. 
Once you see baby is not breathing it is almost always too late. Inclined sleepers aren’t even being sold by big companies for an important reason, they are not safe. Please do not gamble your baby’s life because others have been lucky and have not lost their child.

The recall is for not being used properly. I have 4 sons, and my 5th is arriving Monday via csection. My youngest 2 are 18 months and 29 months, both loved their rock n play. I used until 9 months with the older son and 6 months with the youngest. Once they show signs of sitting up, or rolling over it's time to move to the crib. But I absolutely love this item and fully intend to use mine this time around as well. Again, when used as directed it is up to you.

To each is own. I plan to use my rock and play. People use it incorrectly and don’t watch their children. It is not a bassinet or to be used as a crib (for long or overnight sleep) but cat naps or temporary use is fine; I’m my opinion.

The only safe way for baby to sleep is on a firm, flat surface with no blankets or anything. I would use a different rocker as I'm pretty sure part of the recall was due to them being easily tipped over. I would never use a recalled item for my baby, even for awake time, but if you choose to use this I would absolutely never let any kind of sleep or nap take place in it. Not worth the risk

The only safe way for a baby to sleep is on a flat service, free of blankets and pillows. There’s no way i’d risk it...not worth it. SIDS is real, and tragic. Not in a million years. You do you though, but anyone else saying “I’ve used it and they were fine” is just exhibiting signs of survivors bias.  You do you girl, but you’re going to get a ton of mixed responses. 
I highly recommend joining this very supportive group of mamas on Facebook. It’s been very eye opening to me.

Thank you so much for all the information I wasn’t aware of the inclined sleeping causing sids! So thank you very much. Although I wasn’t gonna be putting my baby in it for nap time or anything I’m not going to take the risk & I’m just going to trash it ! Best of luck to all you mommies.

Yes they were all recalled from my understanding BUT in my opinion it was a lot of user error issue. People leaving babies unattended and letting them sleep in them and allowing babies that could roll over to be in them unsupervised. We continued to use them at the daycare I worked at after the recall, because we watched the babies when they were in them. I see no hazard and will be using one myself.
