So is he ready or not?!

My son (2 years and 3 months) always takes his nappy off when there’s one pee in there. He’ll keep the nappy on if it’s not wet.

He will also take it off if he’s done a poop, and makes a retching sound to let us know he’s soiled himself/on the ground.

However, I got him a potty, and decided to try him out. Whenever I point to the potty and ask if he needs to go, he will take his shorts and nappy off and sit there for a little bit, but do nothing and get off.

Today, I had him sit on it while he watched a show (20mins). He did nothing, but I said good job for sitting on the potty. But then when he got off, not even a couple of minutes later, he peed on the floor.

It happened twice like that!

I tried him on an actual toilet, but he freaks out because his bum is too skinny and he almost falls in. 😅

Tips and advice appreciated! Thanks! 😊
