Is there such thing as a cool and easy divorce/separation?

My Ex and I are going through a separation right now. Now that we have no obligations to each other, we’re like the best of friends. We could easily talk about futures plans regarding our son, property and other relationships. Our relationship was toxic as hell, but at the same time he’s a cool person. I’m going back to my home state in a week and I know I’m going to cry boarding that plane because letting go is hard, but other than that I’ll be fine.

My question is, what am I missing?... I feel like our friendship now is too good to be true... or maybe dealing with a person who never cared in the relationship pays off during separation time 🤷🏾‍♀️ idk.
