I’m getting a Paragard IUD placed in early January. I’ve been on hormonal birth control pills for a little less than 4 years and am just sick of the side effects. I’ve had some serious weight gain, migraines to the point of needing medications and it increased my depression and anxiety to the point where I’ve needed medication that came with an entire slew of side effects that I want to get rid of.

For those of you who have a Paragard or just an IUD in general, how do you like it? Did you have any weird side effects with insertion or anything? I’m very nervous, but also very excited to hopefully get off of all my medications🤞🏻 I want to be a normal, healthy 22 year old without all the pills lol.
