What would you do!?

Question

We are trying to get our little guy on a schedule. He sleeps in our room in a bassinet. Tonight my plan was to have him sleep in his crib (to slowly get used to it) then move him to the bassinet when we go to bed. If he is still asleep when we go to bed should I move him to the bassinet? I’m nervous to let him stay in his room by himself without me! Also, should I do a dream feed? My first time with all of this! Thanks mamas!

Do you have a baby monitor? If so, leave the baby in the crib. If you disturb sleep you may end up having a brutal night. 
My hubby and I alternated with each other. For our baby’s first few nights in his crib, one of us camped out in his room just to be nearby. He slept way better in the crib, though. After a few nights, when we stopped freaking out, he stayed by himself and we had our video monitor at my bedside. Everybody is happier. He stays asleep for most of the night, we don’t wake each other up, etc. He’s been in there since 6 weeks, he’s now 11 weeks.

I wouldnt move the baby and wouldnt do dream feed. Baby will wake and let u know if hes hungry. Id do a feed or top up before bedtime and see if you can get longer stretches. Our girl room share with us in her pack n play

I would let him sleep in his room with the monitor on...  def wouldn't wake him to feedor move him... let him tell you if a feed is necessary...if you would like to get him used to sleeping in there but still would like to keep him in your room at night, maybe put him down in his crib for day time naps and see how he does then start incorporating nights. This may give you more piece of mind.

Personally I would just leave him in the crib and turn on the monitor if you have one. We moved our girl into her crib at 3 weeks old and she has been in there ever since. We all have been sleeping so well! I don’t think you need to do a dream feed unless that is part of your normal routine. However, as they get older babies should be able to go longer stretches at night without eating, so eventually you would probably be able to drop the dream feed anyway. Good luck mama! 💙
