Irish twins? Do you recommend it?

I’d love input from moms of Irish twins! I’ve always wanted my kids close in age, I want them to be close growing up, not to mention getting through the baby/toddler phase all at once for the most part.
IMO, if siblings are too far apart in age, even 2-3 years, as children they’ll be in completely different stages of life and not have anything in common.

My siblings and I are all 5 years apart. I’m super close to my sister (15 years older) and my brother (5 years older) it depends on the siblings and how they are raised/their interests. Irish twins can be dangerous for your health. Your body needs time to heal.

I’m pregnant with my third... found out I was pregnant 4 months pp. it’s been super hard on my body. I don’t recommend it to anyone. Let your body heal. Mine wasnt planned. We planned on waiting another 3-4 years.

My grandma had all 3 of her kids in 25 months (dad has older sister 11m1.5wks older and one sister 13m younger). My mom and her brother are almost exactly 4 years apart. My husband and his sisters are all roughly 2 years apart. I'd say the age gap doesn't seem to matter had my dad is just as close with his younger sister as my mom is with her brother. It seems more to do with personality and upbringing. 
That being said, my first 2 will be 18m apart and that's actually further apart than we wanted. I agree that I like the idea of them being close. I feel like it will be easier because he won't remember being an only child. My first memory is at 20m so I didn't want to go to a 2 year gap. I would talk to your doctor if it's something you're interested in. We talked to my midwife when we wanted to start trying and she said hey biggest concern was my iron, which was fine my whole first pregnancy and looks good with this one, and to do kegel exercises to keep my provided pelvic floor strong. Every body is different, some are built to handle babies closer together and some aren't.

So when I have this baby, my son will be 10 months. This pregnancy has been really hard on me, I also go pregnant before I lost my baby weight so I started 23 lbs heavier than I’m used to... which sucks. I don’t think it will be as big of a hardship only because this will be my 5th and I believe it’s an easier transition after you already have a certain amount of kids. But if it will be your first and second I would think more about it first. Of course it’s doable and plenty of people have survived having 2 until 1 but I’m sure it’s difficult the first 2 years especially. I, personally don’t recommend it for that reason and because I think my body just wasn’t ready to house another human so soon. I recommend giving your body a good amount of time to heal before trying to another babe.

My brother and I are 3 years 9 months apart. I’m 32 and he’s 28. We are incredibly close, talk on the phone at least once a week and are having children 8 weeks apart. American college of gynecology and pediatrics recommends an 18 month gap birth to birth to have your body totally healed and nutrients replenished.

My kids are exactly 25 months apart so 2 years and a month and I'm due with my 3rd almost the same day i was due with my second 2 years apart so they are all just barely 2 years apart and my oldest 2 have been best friends since the day i had my second. My son just adores her and she has always looked up to him. They are now almost 4 and almost 2 and they do pretty much everything together they always have I love the gap cuz they are still pretty close but it gives me time to get them out of diapers and kinda self sufficient so that i dont have 2 babies to get jealous of each other. My kids are super excited to get another sibling

I’m pregnant with my 3rd currently and at this point all 3 will be about 20 months apart and my body is just going through it. It’s tired! We’re really hoping for a boy this time around as our first two are girls but either way I’m done for a least 3 years. My body is just done and needs the break
