Groin lymphnodes ?

Is it normal to feel inguinal lymphnodes on a one year old
What is the normal size criteria

My son had several lymph nodes that were enlarged in his groin. I noticed them shortly after (like a week or so) he got his 12 month shots (which he got late so he was closer to 18 months old. Took him to the doc and we watched them for a bout 4 months did ultrasounds to measure them. A very costly process. Also had 2 visits to surgeons. The first right away wanted to cut one out. However I decided to wait 6 more months and see what happened because he was not showing any symptoms of pain or not feeling well. The largest one got to 2.7cm. They still didn't change so we went to a pediatric surgeon. The pediatric surgeon we went to specialized in lymphnodes. She said that if is very common in kids and she did not recommend doing anything since he had no other symptoms and all of his labs and ultrasounds were within normal limits. She said it can take a very very long time for the lymphnodes to go down after being activated by any illness or virus. I still think its from the shots but no doctor ever said that could have been a possibility. I would recommend to see your pcp/pediatrician and get their opinion but this was our expierence with them.
