How long after breastfeeding should I do formula?

My babies doctor wants me to supplement due to her not gaining weight as she should be. He said I didn’t have to immediately after but didn’t really give me a time.

Please take me seriously when I say research tongue ties and lip ties.  Family doctors and peds are NOT well versed and typically you NEED a pediatric dentist to diagnose.  Also, give formula right away if you're supplementing because you may be decreasing hunger later on and will diminish your supply.  Any drop if formula you give decreases your supply so give as little as possible while still making sure there is weight gain.

How old is baby? Usually they wait to see if they've returned to baseline birth weight and if they are slow to do so then they suggest formula. But they usually give it a few weeks to see what baby and your milk supply does 🤷
