yes, but the amount of say should have to do with things like the other parents involvement and how long they have been in the kids life. for instance a step parent who just met a 9 year old the year before should have less say than a step parent who raised them from birth

I think it really depends. I am a stepmom to two girls, a 15 year old and an 8 year old, from two different moms. Both moms have main custody. We barely ever see the 15-year-old, but have the 8-year-old every second weekend, and at least a week for most holidays. We are really lucky, that the 8-year-old's mom just lets us do whatever we want in terms of discipline. But I definitely respect that she has an obvious mother in her life, and would never do any kind of spanking, or strict punishment.

My husband had been my oldest daughters stepdad since she was two years old. All three ( we have two more daughters now) are treated the same. He parents them all the same and so do I.

Pending state....upon divorce they have rights to custody so better to ger on the same page now. I share custody with my ex and his ex wife, who he is no.longer with obviously.
