When to stop working ??

Hey ladies I am curious on when your going to stop working I was going to try and work up until the last month and take 3 months paid maternity leave but now with how tired I’m starting to get I might take February-June off so I have a few months before to relax and get stuff done and have the months after with baby of course. I am 25 weeks and I’m going through that tired faze in the pregnancy again. Do you all think 30 weeks is to early to be stopping work?

If you’re able to take that time off with out affecting your financial situation or the time you have with the baby after it’s born, go for it. Take full advantage. A lot of people don’t have that pleasure (myself included) and will have to work up until they deliver and then go back 6 weeks after. Use all the time you can get.

Thanks ladies I get 12-18 weeks paid maternity leave which I am going to use at the beginning of March-May possibly June! But I also wanted to take another month of to spend with baby that I’m going to use my tax return money to be able to do so cause it’s important. I’m stopping for sure a month before cause I am on my feet all day long & it’s only going to get harder from here I work 5 days a week as a server & only get one break a day to sit down and eat and it’s a half hour so it really takes a toll on my body & how it’s reacting & why I’m so tired. So if I can take time off before I for sure am going to take advantage I obviously no taking time off when baby’s here is best which is what the paid leave part will be but I’m also taking the month before to prepare and not over work myself before baby is here cause it will be exhausting than as well as my feet will swell & I will start cramping up from standing and walking around all day. If I had a desk job I’d work until I gave birth but I don’t & I can support myself that extra month so I’m going for it! Thanks for the advice.

If you can afford to I’d say def take as much time off as you can. I’m going to stop at 35 weeks. I done this with my first child and by then I was more than ready to slow everything down. It’s important to listen to your body and not push yourself too much.
I’m lucky that in Scotland we get 9months - 2 year maternity leave xx

Here in Germany your maternity leave starts 6 weeks before DD. I’m taking an additional 2.5 weeks of vacation time before that, so I’ll basically stop working around 31.5 weeks. When I lived in the U.S. during my first pregnancy I worked until 3 days before my due date and that’s the day my water broke. I remember the last 5-6 weeks I was soooooooo tired and exhausted. And this time I’m chasing a toddler around too! This time I want to enjoy a few weeks before baby comes to relax while my firstborn is in daycare and have enough energy in the afternoons and evenings to spend time with her before her little sister shakes everything up 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I do know how privileged I am with Germany’s generous maternity leave policies, since we can take up to 3 years.

I’m working until 34 weeks purely because my first was born at 37 because of preeclampsia so OB is being cautious

I stopped at 35 weeks but I also just quit my job to become a SAHM. If it affects your Mat leave after I wouldnt take extra time that early but that's just me.

I’ll be working until I go into labor. I only get 12 weeks of leave and I want every second of it with my baby. If you want to take some time off before, go for it, but only take what you NEED in order to feel ready. Bonding time with your baby is more important than getting every little thing in order!!

I'm 26wks 3 days today I'm planning on working up until march 13th I'm due april 2nd, so I have some time off to get things set up and organized. I also have a 5 year old little boy that I want to spend time with before our little girl arrives. I would say take as little time off as you can before baby comes you may feel tired now but if you have a difficult sleeper it will only be more difficult when baby is here. Luckily enough for us up in canada we have the choice of 12 or 18 months matt leave.

I’m 26weeks and working two jobs. I plan on working until i give birth. My doctor told me it’s good to stay active and can help labor go smoother.
