Sleep... or lack there of
Hi mamas! So my girl is 14 weeks today. She has never been a great sleeper but not horrible. She occasionally does 5-6 hour stretches but often is closer to 3-4. Lately it’s been 2-3 hours max for her first stretch followed by 45-50 minute intervals of sleep! 😫. we’ve always followed a bedtime routine of bath (every other night), pajamas, breastfeed, burp, swaddle (now just sleep sack with arms out), and down in bassinet (in our room) once mostly asleep from rocking. Aside from routine, we haven’t done true sleep training yet. My pediatrician even said she’s too young for it to make sense at the time but I’m thinking now that she’s 3.5 months, maybe it’s time. I know it’s so important to establish good sleep habits but I’m really struggling. When she wakes so many times and from those short intervals, I have a really hard time getting her back to sleep without nursing her for the comfort and calming to get her tired again. I know that’s not good to do but I don’t know what else to do when rocking doesn’t work and she’s wide awake 😫. I know there may be no specific answer and she’s may just not be a great sleeper but any advice for those late night/early morning wakes up would be appreciated!! Thanks so much!
