Fever-ish baby— advice needed please!
So my little girl is 15 weeks, and she was a little fussier than normal yesterday. When it was time to put her in her pjs, I thought she felt a little warm so I took her temp rectally and it was 100.3 😳 I know we’re like on the edge of that “if your baby is 3 months and temp of 100.4 then go to ER” limit, so I called her pediatrician and after 30 min of no return call I took baby to the ER. It’s only 10 min away and I’m a FTM so I am always anxious, I know 🤦🏻♀️ They said she doesn’t have any signs of sickness (no ear infection, thrush, or URI). She’s been congested for about 2 weeks but we’re just doing the saline/nose frida/humidifier/inclined sleeping. Her temp there was also 100.3 and they said if it was 100.4 they would’ve kept her, but since it wasn’t, and since she wasn’t dehydrated or anything else, they just gave her Tylenol and sent us home. So she slept ok, woke up this morning and was back to 100.1 rectal temp and she looked flushed so I gave her a second dose of Tylenol. About an hour later I took her temp again and it was 99.8. She’s not lethargic and she’s eating and having dirty and wet diapers. Do you think I am overreacting? Is there anything I should do differently/try? Is this not even fever territory? I’m irritated that her dr never returned my call to her after hours line. Sorry if this is rambling but I’m just worried bc I know fevers can get worse rapidly, and I go back to work on Tuesday 😩 thank you for any advice!
