Any first timers taking a birthing or breast feeding class?

Question

Debating... due 3/16 and the only open birthing class at the hospital I am delivering is mid feb - 8 hours on a Saturday... the lactation class is a Monday 6-9. Worth it? Part of me thinks it’ll all go out the window when the time to deliver and breast feed comes anyway! 
Thoughts and experience?

I’ve taken a 2 hour breastfeeding class and an 8 hour childbirth class. They were both SO GREAT! My husband and I were furiously taking notes and asking questions. I would definitely recommend them, especially if you’re like us and have 0% experience with babies 👍

We took a five week series birthing/breastfeeding/parenting and it was extremely helpful in my opinion just to help us know what we’re getting into and our options. Plus my SO has never dealt with babies so it taught him alot. We’re also taking a first aid/cpr class

I’m due 3/8, and taking a childbirth class at the hospital mid January (it’s an 8 hr class!) and a breastfeeding class also at the hospital the beginning of Feb. I want as much info as possible before the big day! We’re also going to take a Caring for your newborn class in Jan 😀

Absolutely 100% worth it!! 
I was so glad we took them...my husband was an incredible support for me both in labor AND breast feeding because he really listened to their tips on how to help from their side of things!!

A birthing class is good ..my newest hispotal does a "Centering  Class ".If u dont then u ll get a quick lesson from the nursing staff but it s nice to know more of what to expect ...I birthed 3 babies and even after # 2 I wished I had taken a hypnobirthing or ce.tering n I ve practiced alot of yoga but still they are helpful.Lactationnconsultants will be a big help at the hospital so if it s not super convenient ind skip it.Good luck may U have a free n simple.birth

We are doing birthing classes in February! I think they're four hours long and you go to four sessions. We are mostly doing them because they're free, and with this being our first we figured why not. I think it'll be worth it just to ease my nerves prior to the big day 🙂

I did the birthing class and it helped me soooo much! Labor and delivery is wild and so many things can happen I felt really good knowing most everything the nurses and doctors were telling me. The class explains everything happening in your body and what can possibly happen so you’re prepared. Ours includes the hospital tour. I didn’t take a breastfeeding class but after I gave birth the lactation lady came into my room everyday and helped me and made sure I was confident. I also asked the nurses questions too. I feel like with breastfeeding it sounds scary and really hard but until you have your baby in your arms and you’re doing it you won’t really get it.

I’m due the same day! I’ll at least take an online course at the minimum but probably sign up for an in person class as well
