What age did you brush your baby's teeth?

So I just found out that you're supposed to brush their teeth as soon as they get their teeth, my little girl got hers at 5 months and within a week she will be a year, and have never been brushed/wiped. I can't help but feel bad. I didn't know this 😢 Will my little girl be okay?

I have been doing oral care since birth.  The nicu did it and I continued it because I thought it was a good idea to keep him used to it.  If baby’s teeth look fine then they should be okay but definitely start now!

I took my son to the pediatric dentist at 12 months and he’s 3. We have brushed his teeth twice a day and he loves brushing his teeth.

We started right away. We didn’t necessarily use a tooth brush until he got his first tooth. But we cleaned his gums after every feeding :)

You should begin brushing twice a day once you see that first tooth pop out. You should also make an appt for the dentist at 1 year. 
Oral care, and setting up good oral habits is really important, tantamount to feedings and changings. 
You cant change the past, but you are learning so that's ok. Make an appointment asap, and start brushing today. I'm certain that your baby will be ok. Dont beat yourself up, we all make mistakes.

I just took a baby care class and one of the things I learned was when bathing your newborn, the woman said to take the little toothbrush thing that you put on your finger and massage the baby's gums with it every night or use a wet wash cloth to wipe their gums to get them in a routine asap😱😨 I had nooo idea that this was a thing. My niece is 1 year and 3 months and my sister does no tooth care with her. I guess whatever you feel comfortable with.

We didn’t start brushing right away, and he’s fine. We’ve been told not to make a dental appointment for him until he’s 3. I had the hygienist at my last appointment look at his teeth, just so he’d have a positive first experience with someone looking into his mouth. 
I don’t think your terrible at all, and mistakes happen! Don’t be too hard on yourself!

We started at 5 months when our daughter began getting teeth and then she had her first dentist appointment just after her first birthday. Your kid's not going to lose their teeth or anything from it, but it should have been common sense to get in touch with a pediatric dentist once she started getting them. Your pediatrician knows nothing about teeth.
