I saw this on my Instagram and so many people are posting it. We all have our opinions. But i don’t get what a YT and  WOC is and I thought birth control reacts differently on everyone? And they lost me at the end when they said it’s aimed towards a minority ? Like what? So many people are on birth control. Someone explain Please.

It’s racial propaganda and fear mongering.
Saying that somehow women of colour are forced to get the depo shot to make them infertile... when there is absolutely no evidence to prove that the depo shot makes it impossible to have children when you stop getting your shot...
Women of colour are able to choose whatever form of birth control they want...

I’ve heard lots of bad things about depo. I wouldn’t recommend it to people based off all the horror stories. Other birth controls I’ve heard much better things about. I don’t think WOC (women of color) are being pushed on depo to make them infertile, although unfortunately in the past, there have been efforts to prevent WOC from having kids, so I suppose it’s always possible. In the past there have even been forced sterilizations of WOC, so my faith in humanity is somewhat limited

Can I just say I know many women who are not a POC take depo and have an infertility issues? I don’t necessarily think WOC are forced to take depo. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of other studies that prove WOC go through worse when giving birth, etc. I also very much disagree with the statement that “yt” and WOC receive different type of depo and that everyone is out to get WOC. I find this very false and everyone reacts to bc differently. 😂That whole thread just has so many false claims is ridiculous. Most women have a choice of being on bc and what kind, but to say WOC are being targeted with different kinds is stupid af.

Bull, my niece's mother is a WOC who was on depo when she conceived my niece.
The cramping and weight gain can be true to the individual.
I lightly bled then ENTIRE time I was on it.
