When should you schedule your child’s first dentist appt?

I’m seeing different answers online and nothing from the pediatrician

Our dentist doesn’t start until 3 years old.

Our first check up was 6 months old and every 3 months after that until they’re about 2 or 3, then it goes to 6 months.

Mine was 13 months when she got checked. Went to a kids only dentist. Her Dr was happy because most ppl wait until after 3 and sometimes they already have issues.

My babe had hers right after her first birthday and her 6 month check up at 20 months old. I think it’s recommended around their first birthday. She will now go every 6 months for checks. Not sure when they start cleaning. He just looks at her teeth.

My son went to his first appointment around 8m(when he had a couple of teeth) and then again at 1yr, again at 18m and he’s going again at 2 1/2. 
They told me the earlier you start, the better. And they will see them whenever they have their first tooth. All they did was count his teeth and brush them at his first appointment. 
At this last one they rinsed his mouth with the “big boy sprayer” and he really enjoyed it.

I took my daughter with her big brothers at about 18 months. All they did was check her teeth.
