(Pros and) Cons of a downstairs bathroom?

We’re going to view a house which seems great for its price and one of very few in our budget in our ideal area, however the family bathroom (with bath) is downstairs. There is an en-suite (with shower) upstairs off the master bedroom. Otherwise this house seems perfect.

My husband grew up with the only bathroom and toilet being downstairs but I’ve never had this and its putting me off a little.

The most obvious issue in my head is when my kids are old enough to take themselves to the toilet in the night they would have to come through or bedroom to the en-suite, or go all the way downstairs. Any other major cons I’ve not thought of? Would anyone who lives with w downstairs bathroom definitely avoid it?

There is already a ground level extension for the kitchen and it looks like next door have done a two-level so that could be an option!
