My daughter has always slept in a cosleeper bassinet right next to my bed, but we just went away for the holidays where she slept in a portable cot and she slept so much better, so now I want to transition her into her cot which doesn’t fit in our room so will need to stay in her room down the hall. We don’t have a baby monitor though and I’m just worried that I’m going to be up all night worrying about her and wanting to go check on her, which defeats the purpose of trying to get more sleep.

Does anyone have any suggestions or in the same situation? We will get a monitor eventually but I want to move her within the next few days

EDIT FOR COMMENTS: she is outgrowing her bassinet and a cot doesn’t fit in our room. Our hallway is also super small and a cot won’t fit in there either. Her bedroom is right next to ours and I plan on having both doors open during the night so yes I would be able to hear her clearly if she cries.
