Things i didn’t know about safe sleep- (trigger warning sids)

Hi all, I hope this is allowed to share but here is a moving article with facts and stories of several mothers who experienced lost because they didn’t know safe sleep recommendations. I personally know someone who lost a child to mattress suffocation and she would do anything to go back in time and things. This is only meant as a heart felt reminder, as I shed some tears reading. I won’t be reading comments because like I said, this article contains facts- it’s not up for debate whether or not sleeping on their back in an empty crib close to mom or dad is safer, it is a proven fact. As the article suggests, “most people think their child is the exception.”

Here’s a quote from the article, “The message got through: Within ten years, back-sleeping rates escalated and SIDS deaths dropped by more than half. "It was one of the greatest public-health-education triumphs of the late-20th century," says neonatologist Michael Goodstein, M.D., a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Task Force on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. "An estimated 30,000 children are alive today because of Back to Sleep."”

With love to all you moms ❤️
