Silly question- when feeding your baby solids do you drop oz per bottle?

My son still drinks 6 bottles a day 6.5 oz per bottle even when i give him solids. He’s a big boy but my fear is to over feed him. He only eats about 2 to 3 oz of food a day and unless it’s bananas it takes some work. I’m wondering what other parents are doing. My doctor said once he was eating more to replace a bottle feeding with solids instead but that doesn’t work with my guy yet. He will refuse solids but will jump for his bottle.

Formula/breast milk should be their main source of nutrients until 1. So no I wouldn’t drop bottles. My baby has 5 bottles a day totaling around 35oz per day + breakfast which is usually just yogurt and he eats table food for lunch and dinner. He weighs 19lbs I don’t think he’s over fed at all

I haven’t dropped ounces. I was told not to replace bottles for meals because bottles are more important as that’s where she’ll get most of her nutrition. So I’ve kept everything the same. She gets 3 tbsp of oatmeal with fruit in the morning or just a 4 oz jar or tub of fruit. For lunch and dinner she eats 4 oz of baby food (either just a veggie or veggie and a fruit) when she has both veggie and fruits she has 2-3oz of a veggie and 1-2 oz of a fruit. She loves to eat and the doctor shows no concern about over feeding or anything.

Mine went through a crazy oz gain and then the next month dropped oz on her own. She barely ever finishes a 5 oz now. She went from 35 to 24 since we went to 3 meals a day

I let my babies choose when to drop ounces and bottles. I was always told breastmilk/formula should be their primary source of nutrition until they turn 1. My first started dropping ounces around 9 months and dropped a bottle at 10 months.
