Biophysical profile?

I measured small two weeks ago so they scheduled me an ultrasound to confirm size. Today at 34 weeks he’s 4lb 12oz so they said his size was fine & so was the amount of amniotic fluid. Regardless of the appt today she still scheduled me for a biophysical ultrasound at 36 weeks. I googled it and it seems like its for at risk moms. Has anyone had this done & why?

I started my 2x a week non stress tests and Bpp last week 12/23 I will have them done due to my medical condition and my past pregnancies. They do seem like a waste of time sometimes but if your doc says it is something you should do then maybe you should do it. I am not to thrilled about going 2x a week but I know it has to be done for a healthy baby and mommy

So I am high risk and get this done every week. It’s just a simple ultrasound. If a doctor is suggesting it I would do it. I don’t advice not doing it or showing up. A doctor would never induce you early for unnecessary reasons. They want the to stay in as long as possible. Things can change in a day and go bad fast. Better save than sorry.

I’m currently having a biophysical profile done every week. I’m having mine done due to me being high risk. It’s a very simple procedure, they just want to make sure baby is interacting the way they should.

Since I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and put on medication I have to go weekly for NSTs and biophysical ultrasounds. This started at 32 weeks and I will have to do them until my scheduled c-section.

I have a biophysical profile and an nst done weekly. I enjoy getting to see my baby weekly, it’s reassuring to me to hear her heartbeat and just be able to see her moving around. If my doctor recommends something I do it. They know more than me. I’m also high risk for preeclampsia and have a blood disorder so I don’t mind making the trip weekly. Only a few more appointments until baby girl is here 🙌🏼

I have had weekly biophysical profiles and NST's done since 25 weeks and I will have them until my baby is born. I have hypertension and am at risk for preterm labor.

You can deny the ultrasound and or not shop up. Extra medical stuff not needed only lead to interventions like induction and c-section for conceive and they say it's for safety.
If you/baby are fine then the safest thing to do is avoid extra interventions.
