Having a miscarriage at 6 weeks

Hey ladies,

I found out I was pregnant about 2 weeks ago. Yesterday night I started bleeding and cramping around 10pm. The cramps and bleeding got pretty bad so I went to the hospital. They performed an ultrasound and determined that the baby no longer has a heartbeat; and I’m having a miscarriage. I keep bleeding and cramping on and off, when I asked the doctor he said that I would pass the fetal tissue either in a couple days or in a week or two. I told him I’m worried my cervix won’t open in order to let the fetal tissue pass. He said that more bleeding and cramping were normal but that my body should pass the tissue naturally without any help from the hospital. I’m just in shock right now to be honest. 😭 I’m wondering if anyone knows what this type of miscarriage is called? I’m still bleeding and cramping but haven’t passed any fetal tissue yet. I know miscarriages are common in first trimester pregnancies. Just wondering also if anyone would be able to share their experience when miscarrying as it would be helpful to me right now..
